Privacy Policy

Page Prep collects nothing. It contains no network code at all — not a disabled analytics library, not an unused endpoint. There is no mechanism in the extension capable of sending anything anywhere.
The only thing it stores is four of your own display settings, on your device.
Limited Use disclosure
Page Prep's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- Any data the extension handles is used only to provide its single purpose — preparing a web page for sharing, and capturing it.
- No data is transferred to third parties. There is no mechanism in the extension capable of doing so.
- No data is used or transferred for advertising of any kind, including personalised, re-targeted, or interest-based advertising.
- No human reads any user data. Nothing leaves your device for anyone to read.
What the extension stores
Four values, in the browser's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local):

These are your own settings. They stay on your device, are not synced to any account, and are deleted when you uninstall the extension.
What the extension does with page content
When you open the toolbar on a page, Page Prep reads and modifies that page's content in order to do what you asked — rewriting text you click on, removing an element you select, replacing characters with bullets, or blurring an image.
This happens entirely in your browser, as it happens, and nothing is retained. The extension does not copy page content into storage, does not keep a record of it afterwards, and has no way to send it anywhere.
Screenshots
Screenshots are produced by the browser's own capture API and saved straight to your Downloads folder through the browser's normal download mechanism. The image is created in the page and never sent anywhere.
Page edits
Text edits, removed elements, masked content, and swapped images are applied to the page in your browser only. They stay for as long as you are on the page, including after you close the toolbar, so you can take a screenshot without the toolbar in it. Nothing is saved and nothing is uploaded — every change disappears when you reload the page.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect, store, or transmit the content of any page you visit.
- It does not track your browsing history or which sites you use it on.
- It does not contain analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising.
- It does not make network requests of any kind.
- It does not require or offer an account.
Permissions, and why each is needed

Page Prep requests no host permissions and declares no content scripts. It has no access to any page until you ask for it by clicking the icon, and it is not present on pages you have not pointed it at. Chrome shows no site-access warning when you install it.
Children
Page Prep is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Any change will be published on this page, with the date above updated, and reflected in the version history of the extension's repository.
